Developer Mode Not Showing on iPhone
Developer Mode is hidden by default. It only becomes visible after your iPhone has been connected to a computer. Here's how to make it appear.
Quick Answer
Connect your iPhone to your computer with a USB cable and tap Trust. Then check Settings → Privacy & Security — Developer Mode will now appear at the bottom.
Steps to Enable Developer Mode
- 1
Connect iPhone to computer via USB
Use the original Apple Lightning or USB-C cable. Connect to a Mac or Windows PC running iGlide LocationChanger.
- 2
Tap 'Trust' on your iPhone
A dialog appears: 'Trust This Computer?' — tap Trust and enter your device passcode. This registers the computer with your iPhone.
- 3
Open Settings → Privacy & Security
On your iPhone, open Settings. Tap Privacy & Security. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the list.
- 4
Tap Developer Mode and toggle it ON
Developer Mode now appears at the bottom. Tap it, then toggle the switch ON. Your iPhone will prompt you to restart.
- 5
Restart and confirm
Tap Restart. After your iPhone reboots, a dialog appears: 'Turn On Developer Mode?' — tap Turn On. Enter your passcode if asked.
- 6
Reconnect to iGlide
Connect your iPhone to the computer again. iGlide LocationChanger can now detect and communicate with your device.
Common Questions
Developer Mode exists on iOS 16+ only
Developer Mode was introduced in iOS 16. If you are on iOS 15 or earlier, you do not need it — iGlide works without Developer Mode on iOS 15 and below. Skip this step if you are on iOS 15.
Developer Mode toggle is grayed out
The toggle may appear inactive if your iPhone is not connected. Make sure the USB cable is plugged in and you have tapped Trust on your iPhone. The toggle will become active once a computer connection is recognized.
I don't see Privacy & Security in Settings
On older iOS versions, Privacy and Security may be separate menus. Look for 'Privacy' and check inside that menu. On iOS 16+, they are combined as 'Privacy & Security'.
Developer Mode disappeared after an iOS update
Some iOS updates require re-enabling Developer Mode. Reconnect your iPhone to a computer and repeat the steps above.
